PEEK parts processing and manufacturing
PEEK parts are widely used in mechanical parts, such as automotive gears, oil sieve, shift starter disk; aircraft engine parts, automatic washing machine rotor, medical equipment parts, 등.
PEEK main characteristics:
1: High temperature resistance. The U.S. UL certification for long-term use temperature of 260 ℃. Even when the temperature reaches 300 ℃, can still maintain excellent mechanical properties
2: Wear resistance. In many high temperature, high load, strong corrosion and other extremely harsh applications, PEEK polymer and its composite materials have good wear resistance.
3: Self-lubricating. Has a low coefficient of friction, can realize the oil-free lubrication work, can be in oil, water, steam, weak acid and alkali media such as long-term work.
4: Corrosion resistance. Insoluble in common solvents, a variety of organic and inorganic chemical reagents, have good corrosion resistance.
5: High strength. It has good mechanical strength in plastics. It also has high rigidity and surface hardness.
6: Easy processing. Parts can be directly machined using the injection molding process. Can be turned, milling, 교련, 태핑, bonding and ultrasonic welding and other post-processing.
7: Hydrolysis resistance. At a temperature of more than 250 ℃ steam or in high pressure water immersion, PEEK products can still work continuously for thousands of hours without significant performance degradation.
8: Flame retardant. In the absence of any additives, 1.45 mm thickness of the PEEK sample flammability grade UL94V-0.
9: Low smoke and non-toxic. The amount of smoke and poisonous gases during combustion is exceptionally low.
10: Electrical performance. In a wide range of temperatures and frequencies, can still maintain a stable, excellent electrical properties.
11: Radiation resistance. Has a very strong resistance to high doses of γ-ray radiation, mechanical properties can be retained intact, can be used as nuclear equipment in the radiation-resistant parts.
12: Dimensional stability
Application Fields
As a high-performance engineering plastic, PEEK (polyether ether ketone) has shown wide application value in many fields due to its excellent heat resistance, chemical resistance, high strength, low coefficient of friction and good dimensional stability. The following are some of the common applications of PEEK:
- Medical industry: Production of implantable materials, such as bone fixation plates, joint replacement parts, cranial bone repair materials, because it has good biocompatibility and X-ray permeability. Manufacture of medical devices such as surgical tool handles, dental instruments, endoscope components, and dialyzer components.
- Aerospace: To make lightweight and high-strength aircraft interior parts, structural parts, and high-temperature and radiation-resistant wires and cables. Used as high-performance plastic components in aircraft engines and auxiliary systems to reduce weight and improve reliability.
- Automotive manufacturing: Production of engine peripheral components, drive train parts such as gears, 문장, 물개, 등., which contribute to lightweighting of automobiles and improved fuel efficiency.
- Making high-temperature and oil-resistant automotive electronic component housings and internal structural parts. Electrical and Electronics: – Used as an insulating material in the manufacture of connectors, switches, relays, 등. It is especially outstanding in high temperatures or harsh environments.
- Making insulation layer of wires and cables, especially where flame retardant and high temperature resistance is required.
- Energy field: In the oil and gas industry, used to make corrosion-resistant, high-temperature-resistant pipes, valves and pump parts.
- Used in solar energy and nuclear power plants that require high temperature and chemical corrosion resistant parts.
- Precision machinery: to make parts in precision instruments and equipment, such as capillary tubes and joints in analytical instruments, heat-resistant bearings and gears in office machinery.
- High-precision parts in industrial automation equipment, such as jigs and fixtures, because PEEK has good dimensional stability and wear resistance.
- Chemical industry: Manufacture of chemical-resistant containers, pumps, pipelines, 등. for harsh environments such as strong acids and alkalis.
